Gauchos of Torres del Paine, North of Puerto Natales, Chile
Torres del Paine - Chile's National Park in South America's Patagonia region is home to the iconic Chilean Gauchos, also known as Huasos.
Our most recent trip to Torres del Paine was in December 2010. We drove from El Calafate, Argentina to Cerro Guido Estancia on the east side of the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. http://www.cerroguido.cl/). The Estancia is owned by the same company as Patagonia Camp http://www.patagoniacamp.com/index_eng.html). Cerro Guido exceeds 100,000 acres, and is a working estancia. In addition, they own Matetic Vineyards, a winery with superior wines, along with excellent accommodations and food. This is located in the San Antonia Valley region outside Santiago. http://www.mateticvineyards.com/).
These unique images of working gauchos in this gallery were taken off the new road connecting the south entrance into Torres del Paine with Pueto Natales, Chile.
